Introduction
Rathinam Technical Campus (RTC) is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all its members. Sexual harassment in any form is unacceptable and contrary to the values of RTC. This policy is designed to prevent sexual harassment and provide a framework for addressing complaints in a fair and timely manner.
Scope:
This policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors of RTC, and covers all forms of sexual harassment, whether occurring on-campus, off-campus during RTC-sponsored events, or online.
Definition:
Sexual harassment is defined as any unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature, including but not limited to:
- Unwanted sexual advances
- Requests for sexual favors
- Verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature
- Display of sexually suggestive materials
- Any other conduct that creates a hostile or intimidating environment
Policy:
RTC prohibits all forms of sexual harassment and will not tolerate such behaviour.
- All members of RTC are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that respects the dignity and rights of others.
- Victims of sexual harassment are encouraged to report incidents promptly using the designated reporting mechanisms.
- RTC will ensure that complaints are handled with sensitivity, confidentiality, and impartiality.
- Investigations into complaints will be conducted promptly, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against individuals found to have engaged in sexual harassment.
- RTC will provide support and assistance to victims of sexual harassment, including access to counseling and other resources.
- RTC will conduct regular awareness programs and training sessions to educate members about sexual harassment prevention and the procedures for reporting complaints.
Reporting Procedure:
- Victims of sexual harassment can report incidents to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) or any member of the ICC.
- Complaints can be submitted in writing or verbally, and will be treated with confidentiality.
- RTC will ensure protection against retaliation for individuals who report sexual harassment in good faith.
